Another victory for St.Silas this time by 4 goals to 2. Alan Dock opened the scoring and Valley Boy made it 2 nil within 20 minutes. 2 goals disallowed one by Gordon Comrie the other by Ali Morrow led to Claremont coming back into the game and scoring 2 in quick succession. The offside was not working very well today. With 15 minutes to go Frank made it 3 v 2 and then within the last 5 minutes Claremont attacked and had 4 chances to snatch an equaliser but missed ther opportunity and with a long kick out flicked on by Graham staright to Frank who slotted in for his second and St Silas' fourth.
People to mention in this game John Wood for his tireless work rate today and of course man of the match Graham Cuthbert who had a solid game in midfield. Soecial mention to Gordon Comrie who played well and set up 1 goal and should have scored one himself. The defense was solid again and Murdo and Davey did very well. Valley Boy took his total goals for to 5 this season and Iain after a shakey 10 minutes regained his composure and commanded the back 4.
Midfield had a good gam with a lot of work coming from it. Alan Dock scored another belter of a goal to claim his fourth of the season. John Wood as previously mentioned worked his socks off and played unselfishly through out. Our opponents Claremont have improved immensely and have some very good young players coming through. They will do well next season and gave us a very good match today. Well done to them and excellent work from the St. Silas team. Thank you to those that came and supported us today it was great to have you there.
My sublime finish yet again showed my versatility. The #9 shirt will be mine! I could have had a hat-trick. Your report fails to mention me hitting the post and also hitting the back of Ali's head! I'll be eating all my meals blended from now on...
