I've had a very busy but enjoyable 2 weeks. It's been really fruitful with lots of meetings and conversations with folk - some new faces and new stories, some folk I know but who's stories I didn't know much of and some old faces who I've not seen for a while with new stories to share. Hopefully there will be some rekindling of friendships and deeper relationships as a result.
As we head in to another week, I'm conscious that I have another busy schedule this week so I'm planning to carve out some time where I have nothing to do other than chill out and spend time with the family. However, I've been so blessed of late with people that I've met and spent time with - their friendly words, openness and beautiful hearts have really touched me. I was struck yesterday by the comments of a lady I met for the first time (a friend of a friend) when she said to me (as we left her) "we'll catch up soon". I'd only just met her but there was an instant acknowledgment that in Christ our stories and lives connected. She spoke to me as though I'd known her for years. I'm so grateful to God for the many blessings he gives us ... and quite often in the most unusual places and surprising ways!
And talking of blessings ... bruiser boy (our 12 month old son) has woken up and decided it must be play time! He is doing his usual 'I'll climb on anything and anyone' palava as he scrambles towards his dad's remote controlled car at the side of his bed; so before he crawls across my laptop or jumps on me I'd better rescue the car ... woops, he's now swinging it by the ariel!
Blessings :)
