It's difficult to write about subjects that cause strong reaction from people who sit on opposite sides of any debate. Both sides have their opinions, which they feel strongly about, but when both sides assert to a position that they feel is reflective of biblical teaching it is very difficult to discuss the issue without people going on the defensive to argue their case.
Homosexuality is not just a hot topic within the Church but an issue which is causing action and offense, not to mention disunity within the Anglican communion. Provocative events such as suggested here only serve to create reaction and to my mind is rather devilish. GV's post concerning the events has attracted many comments from those on either side of the debate over how homosexuality is viewed within scripture.
As a moderate evangelical Charismatic Anabaptist, there's no prizes for guessing which position I hold with regard to the authority of scripture on this issue. Read his story here.
